About Us

The Great Southern Bike Rally was created to for one purpose and that was to help children. In January of 2004 a group of men and women met and started with a vision of doing something for those that are less fortunate than most.

We all had the same idea to give back something to a community that had only been good to all of us. With that said we decided to put on a bike rally knowing that there are no more giving and caring people out there than bikers. We decided on a name and formed a Corporation

 (The Great Southern Bike Rally, Inc.)

Through donations from a number of local and regional businesses we had enough money to start, for these businesses we will forever be Thankful for without them this event would have never happened.

Our first Rally was held in April of 2004 with approximately 1,200 people showing up at our rally, we were so Thankful.

The Great Southern Bike Rally was able to make donations to 14 Children's charities, these charities provide everything from food to clothing to recreation for our kids.

This year 2008 we expect to draw more than 5,000 visitors to our Rally and expand our giving to touch more children's lives. Where will it end we don't know, what we do know is that with your help we will continue to help the children of our community as well as those around us.

Our Board of Directors is a mix of local business owner's and community leaders all serving as volunteers. We really appreciate the time and effort that they so tireless put into the Rally. Our meeting for the 2008 Event began the Tuesday after the 2007 Event. The board meets every two weeks and will begin meeting every week after the first of January and then nightly in the weeks prior to the Event. You can see why we appreciate those that have been willing to serve.

In addition to the Board Members we have advisors that also serve the Rally as volunteers as well. They also attend the meetings at the same time as the Board Members meet.
